Silk was born Fredericton in New Brunswick Canada. Ilkay Silk is the daughter Peter Silk, a professor and Anna Silk, who's a director, actress as well as a producer and playwright. Anna holds some early memories of going to rehearsals for plays. Silk was a small girl in a variety of commercials. Silk graduated from St. Thomas University with an Associate of Arts degree in 1997. Theatre St. Thomas has produced two plays in the early years: Seven Menusand The Kitchen. Silk relocated from Toronto in the month of November 1999, and moved to Los Angeles during the next decade. Seth Cooperman became her husband in 2007, after they met at an ActorsWorkshop held located in Los Angeles. They were engaged in 2009 and were wed in the civil ceremony on the month of December in that same year. When she converted to Judaism and they renewed their wedding vows during a Jewish ceremony on April 10th 2011.
