Ani Difranco
Angela Maria Ani DiFranco - an Canadian as well as an American musician and singer. She has produced over 20 albums of studio work. Her music is classified as folk rock as well as alternative rock, but it has additional elements of punk, funk, hip beat and jazz. Ani DiFranco was among the first artist to launch her own record company in the year 1990. Ani is widely considered as one of the feminist icons. DiFranco has two daughters: Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They met at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. She is known for her Little Folksinger style, but she has worked with several different genres and artists including Pete Seeger to Chuck D. She lives in New Orleans. DiFranco started attending Buffalo State College when she was just 16 years old. She earned her degree from the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts in the year she was 16.
